They open at 10:00, but they happen to show matches on TiVo, so we will be able to watch Spurs at that time. Are the VA folks interested in joining us?
So this didn't really work out so well. While Auld Shebeen is basically a stone's throw from my place and indeed has the set up of an ideal soccer pub, it was not to be (at least not the day after Christmas).
ReplyDeleteThey did not tape the Spurs game (clearly the website was the wrong place to find info about their offerings). To be fair, it was the day after Christmas. But the place was empty except for Pete, Teresa and myself.
I'm sticking with Summers. It may be a bit "Dennys"-esque but like Dennys, it's always there when you need it. And in a soccer pub, reliability goes a long way.
Summers does have reliability going for it and their food while still not remarkable seems to have improved.
ReplyDeleteunfortunately, this place was a bust on Boxing Day - however, I'd like to see how it would do with a real crowd... that said, soccer bars that don't open before 10:00a are not real soccer bars in my mind
